saucepan & spoon?

can anyone enlighten me as to why there are a few saucepans and wooden spoons hanging from the fence at rathausplatz?!

    Really?!?! So random. Making rain soup? I am just right over the Austrian border in Germany, but haven't seen these. You will have to let us know what it is for...if you ever figure it out :)

    Isn't that the oddest thing! I googled it, but nothing came up except references to your blog post. I'll have to ask my friend in Vienna to see if she knows.

    Hi Kate, your friend in Vienna says: sorry, no idea, haven't seen this before. But I guess it's sort of an art installation or, and that's probably the right guess: a "left-over" from the demonstration on International Women's Day, March 8th.
