I love this church! It's my second favourite in Vienna, the first being Schottenkirche (and No. three is the obvious one, Stephansdom, even though it shares the place with Votivkirche which is also very pretty). The thing I love the most about Karlskirche (or should I say its surroundings...) is 'My Little Henry Moore' (not so little, in fact) in front of the church, at the fountains. My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Vienna and then revisited it several times (we were last there two-and-a-half years ago with our children). I love the place! Thank you so much for your blog, it's a wonderful combination of my favourites - you're British (I'm totally in love with Britain)and you live in Vienna (which is one of my favourite cities)!
thanks for the lovely message mojca! i'm so glad you enjoy my blog. i love karlskirche too. there seem to be so many different parts put together (the huge dome, the detailed columns etc). i walk past it often. i've been reading your blog... i see you've been collecting british china! hope you had a lovely birthday. all the best, kerry x

ReplyDeleteBest regards, Mojca XXXX.
Still loving the random child's head :) I keep taking pictures of the Karlskirche too, because it still impresses me!
