the botanical gardens

i got a happy fix of greenery and colourful flowers yesterday. it was a public holiday here in austria (there have a lot recently, right?) and i spent a few hours wandering around the many paths and then i sat on a bench and read my book in the shade of a beautiful tree.

the botanical gardens (part of the university of vienna) are in the 3rd district (the district of vienna in which i live) but this was the first time i had ever been there! it was actually bigger than i thought with some really huge trees considering it is right in the city. really glad i finally visited.
