espresso café

when i was tired of walking yesterday i stopped and drank a couple of beers in a café called espresso on burggasse (in the 7th district).
i really like this café. it might not be everyones cup of tea but its just the sort of place i like and i love the retro furniture and relaxed feel to the place. i felt very happy sitting with a beer reading my book watching people coming and going.
the little patio out the front is looking a bit sorry for itself now with all the furniture stacked away but its really lovely in the summer months when the sun is shining.

p.s. i'm currently reading cat's cradle by kurt vonnegut. really liking it so far.

  1. That's one of my fav novels- I love KV!
Lovely cafe- bright and cheery on the inside-
    Have a great day.

  2. Nothing like a lovely cafe in the sunshine! Happy weekend!

  3. Cool place. love the tablecloths!

  4. That place looks fantastic...not only good for people watching but the decor is so interesting as well!

  5. i like it too. do they serve food?

  6. yes they do serve food. I haven't seen the menu but 2 people either side of me were eating & there were specials on the blackboard!

  7. The café is great. I visited vienna last year and stayed there, too. I like :)

  8. How wonderful that you made it inside! It is on my long list of places to visit. Like the look too, and as long as the coffee tastes good, what more can one wish for? I love Vonnegut, how do you like the Cat's Cradle so far?

  9. thanks for all your comments everyone!

merisi: i can't comment on the coffee i'm afraid. i don't like coffee (i know i know, i live in vienna and don't like coffee!). but you should visit!
i'm really enjoying cat's cradle. off to bed now to continue reading!
